Common causes
Every request checks the agent’s token and its current connection in MCPBinder. It fails when either one lacks what the action needs.
- The project isn’t in the connection. Only specific projects doesn’t include projects created later, and a task outside them reads as “isn’t a task this connection can see.”
- The permission wasn’t granted. Errors such as “The tasks:write permission is required. Reauthorize this agent to continue.” name what’s missing.
- The connection was reduced, revoked, or expired: “This connection was changed or revoked. Reconnect the agent.”
- You can’t see the project yourself. An agent never gets more than the person who connected it.
- Creating projects needs a whole-workspace connection. Changing a project’s statuses, labels, or sections needs a workspace owner or admin to grant that permission.
- Your membership changed. Removing a member revokes their agents, and members past a workspace’s seat limit are paused along with their agents.
See what a connection has
In your workspace, open Settings → Agent access. Each connection shows whether it’s active, expired, or revoked, along with its Projects, Allowed accounts, and Permissions.
To narrow access, use Reduce permissions; to end it, use Revoke access. Either way, the app must reconnect. Owners and admins can also reduce or revoke other members’ connections.
Give an agent more access
If the consent screen offers only reading, the app is asking for read-only access. Update what the app requests, or remove and re-add the connection.
- Start the connection again from your app. Some agents can also ask for a missing permission themselves.
- MCPBinder opens the same workspace with your current choices filled in. Add the projects, permissions, or accounts you want.
- Confirm it’s you if asked: a sign-in within the last 10 minutes, or a passkey or authenticator check.
- Select Review changes to see exactly what’s added or removed, then select Connect. Nothing changes until you do.
